First bass: a borrowed one for the first few years made out of spare parts that never quite worked

Marianne Derbyshire band, The Bobcat, Bourbon & Biscuit Blues Band, The Rocodiles, The Heather Lawrence Band, The Killing Floor.

Inspirations:
My Dad's collection of jazz and swing 78s, the great bands I heard when I came down to London in the 1980s and all the greats of the bass, especially Ray Brown, Willie Dixon, Jerry Jemmott, Tommy Cogbill.

Ambition:
To fill my life up with the good things - family, friends and makin' music.
