Born: Thurles, Co Tipperary, Ireland First harmonica: Hohner Marine Band First Amplifier: Fender Bassman and collected many more over the years Previous history: - Playing drums at school and with local band. 1996 - Late starter with the harmonica 1996-2005 - Formed The Borroway Blues Band in 1996. Put a second band together in 2000 called 'Fatnin Frogs Blues Band' that played mainly in 'Aint Nothin But The Blues Bar', Kingly St, London. 2005 - Renamed the bands to 'Gentleman Tim & The Contenders' Inspirations: My Father and my Uncle for passing on their interest in drums, Swing and Blues music at an early age. For Harmonica Blues it's got to be Sonny Boy Williamson 1 & 2, Little Walter, James Cotton, Big Walter Horton, George Smith, Paul Butterfield and the modern day masters, Rod Piazza, William Clarke, Gary Smith, Rick Estrin, Paul Lamb, James Harman, Gary Primich, Kim Wilson, Sugar Ray Norcia. For Vocals it's got to be Sugar Ray Norcia, Darrell Nulisch and James Harman For the Swing Style music my favourites are Louis Jordan, Benny Goodman, Lucky Millinder, Smiley Lewis, Roy Milton, Big Joe Turner etc
